As you may have discovered you cant actually use the " | " or the " - " as a prefix. To get around this if you go to My Documents/Battlefield 2/Profiles and open the global file in notepad and enter the "|2es-" prefix between the GlobalSettings.setNamePrefix " " marks.
It should look like - GlobalSettings.setNamePrefix "|2es-"  |
