Hello,
Wondering if anyone can help me with all your vast knowledge of computing.
My college Scousandy of your clan has told me you know everything you need to know about broadband tweaking etc.
I will try and keep it brief ,
I has 1 mb BT internet and it worked fine, myself and my wife both play BF2 on networked computers in our smoked filled sweat smelling office. No problems so far.
I used to get pings on average 40 sometimes a lot less but never over 60
I Decided in my wisdom to upgrade to 8mb with BT and get the shiny new BT Home Hub.
What a dropped bollock I have made.
My pings now range from 60 upwards to around 2000 with obvious consequences. Now it is the same telephone line and the same connections so I can only think it is the setup?
Any ideas on tweaking or a program to boost the internet connection.
I have tried allsorts to get it right its just not happening.
Please help
Thanks in advance

I have been with BT for a few years now and I sort of had the same problem when I was on their 2mb connection I always had a ping of around 30 which was pretty stable.
I decided to upgrade to the 8mb connection and for a few days I was getting under 20 ping which was a first but after a few days my ping seemed to of set it self at 40 now which was worse than before
This is nothing compared to you I can understand.
for you to get massive high pings though surely thats something else draining your bandwidth and not BT
Cheers
