Ok so we all know that the ps3 controler will support tilt sensetivity, meaning that that you can control the game by tilting the controler. but as a tradeoff it will not have rumble. Does this seem like a reasonable tradeoff given the fact that the wii remote has tilt, thrust, light sensetivity and more, and it also has rumble AND a built in speaker.

Hard to say in a single answer, depends on the game you want to play with it, if you wanna play fighting games or whatever, i'd rather have rumble support than tilt.

But other games i'd rather have tilt. There's always gotta be some give an take, yeah the wii has all that, but at the end of the day it's a kids console - the games are arcadey and quite cheesey.

I personally wont even be looking at the PS3 when it first comes out. At the 425quid launch price i'll probably just chuck that at my PC - with the way directX10 is going and the new games for the PC, i cant understand what the console now offers someone that A pc cant - Yeah fair enough to get a PC to play the latest games to the quality a console does you need to spend 800quid plus - probably more - so price probably comes into it.

The other thing that the consoles probably has the family factor - in the fact that it'smore accesable and easier to 'pick up and play' as it were.

I've just realised i've gone completey off topic so i'll leave it be. And to end, rumble or tilt - - - - depends on the game both have pluses.

Tara

well if you think the wii is a kids console then the entire IDF is made up of kids, cause i have me soldier buds lined up to play the wii and they all don't even think about the ps3, lol.

It's probably me being a bit dim but i didn't understand that :S

maybe i should start the sentance with - in my opinion - the Wii is aimed at kids and adults who have yet to progress - the games i've seen advertised and the adverts and things, it just ooozes cheeseyness.

I'm not even thinking about the PS3 either, i dont think it'll give me any benifets over my good PC. In fact i still believe teh PC offers far more flexibility than consoles ever will.

I do love the Wi (innovation and cheap!)i, and the Xbox 360 is a nice console, the only thing that draws me to a PS3 is the Blueray player... but that ridiculous launch price won't put too many people off unfortunately.

Oh and Smurf i know what u mean m8, the N64 for a while was a complete kiddies machine, but still had some amazing games, Nintendo has always gone for the "It's just a games console nothing more" approach, unlike Sony and MS that go for the "Multi purpose" consoles. consoles that can play dvd's and whatever are great but Nintendo always seems to lead the way in innovative ideas and u gotta love it, was just a shame that Sega hung up their boots in regards to console making Sad i do miss the Sega Vs Nintendo wars!
