Why are so few members supporting our BF2 server?

Well my first night back on BF2 went ok even though i forgot the buttons lol but had some good fun in the heli with cowboy!

I have BF2 on the shelf, I haven't touched in eons but I shall try and give it a go.

i know this subject is bought up time and time again about maps etc, and sorry to bring it up again. but how about making server infantry only????? i've played on a few infantry only servers over past few months when ours has been empty (late at night) and i really enjoy it. they seem to be busy all the time. i know some of the members like to fly choppers, i myself have been trying to get as much practice as i can lately flying. but i hate tanks and apc's. for me they ruin the game. i appreciate thats its impossible to please all the people all of the time. but thought i would put this forward as a possible way of keeping the server busy. i'm only one member and don't really know what other members think of this, but i think its an option.
when server is full i don't think tanks etc are a problem, but on days when its a little quieter its really annoying for me when a few people are driving round in tanks or jets blowing everyone else up. members and some regulars realise this and change tactics, however some of public dont and it can ruin the game for everyone else.
bf2 is an ageing game so is obviously going to loose out a little, but from my personal experience the infantry servers are the busiest,and poss most popular.
always a difficult subject especially for mrix as he has to try and please as many people as poss, but thought i would get others veiws on this. maybe worth a try???? Confused

Massive thanks to all who continue to support our server.
The KEY is getting the game started, and members / regulars supporting our server when numbers fall.
We reduced the server from 64 to enable a lower number of players to maintain the game and also generate interest for infantry playes
I like infantry and city maps but we have to find the happy balance.
If we were to go INF only, we would need more members to regularly logon and play to get the server going.

like ntro said the key is getting the server started early enough in the day..... more public players join if there are afew |2es members on

im not sure about inf only..... personally i dont like them.....it is abit of a pain when theres only afew players and everyones in tanks and apcs but i dont think inf only would be the right move.....but its what ever is best for the server so i would continue to support the server whatever happens
