I would love one of those big ol' flashie computeres with 2x9800 sli linked with waterfall heatsinks 50gb memory cards and a motherboard thats so motherly it breastfeeds

Nvidia cheap? Rolling Eyes

The Nvidia 9800 series will replace the 8800 series. Their hopefully gonna cost less than the 8800 series to compete with ATI's cheaper Radeon 3800 series, but if they dont- it wouldnt suprise me. Christ you'll pay just under £500 for an 8800 Ultra, if you can still find one. thats like what? £100-150 more for like 4-5 fps more compared to the 8800 GTX, which some can come with larger memory sizes than the Ultra.

Now dont get the me wrong, the 9800 GX2 has a very high chacne of knocking the Radeon 3870 X2 GDDR3 of the top spot (thought 3870 X2 is coming in GDDR 4 versions soon and there is also a new revision for the 3800 series coming too) but its got alot of problems too. Due to its 'sandwich' design its extremely large and heavy, the heaviest GFX card ever!, which could cause shipping damages and such tings as PCI-E slots possibly being ripped off their sockets. As well as the fact that its runs VERY very hot! So superoir air flow, or even high-end water cooling, is gonna be needed to keep it at respectable temperatures- the early reference designs were actually physical so hot to touch they had warning stickers on them telling you not to touch them when it was on. Shocked Though i believe it has been fixed now.

As the world of gaming knows, Nvidia's been sitting nicely at the top now for a while, my only concern is that they've released these cards too quick to combat ATI's cheaper graphics cards, and in turn make bad products and slightly damage their well grounded reputation. The fact that they wont support Direct X 10.1 with any of their lastest and future products could be a mistake too. P.S. Yes, Nvidia will support DirectX 11 when it comes out in the future.

Im really looking forward to seing how the 9800 series, especially the 9800 GX2, scores in benchmarking, especially against that of the 3870 X2 and its future revamps. And im also looking forward to how Nvidia is going to incoporate their newly bought AEGIA companys Physics processing into their products i.e GFX cards.

To put it simply, a sh*tloads going on right now Laughing
Cebit's in full swing and were aproaching Q2 of 2008
