My trusty MX510 is knackered and playing a fps with it is hell atm, the tracking has gone to hell, it's like the sensitivity is jumping up and down every few seconds at random. Trying to nail someone when they have any transversal is near impossible.
Had a quick look around and the obvious choices would seem to be a Logitech G5 or a Razer Krait which while not quite as high spec looks really good value. Anyone have any comments/recommendations?
Also are them fancy looking rodent mats worth it? Last couple of years i have just been using the desk, no mat at all, wondered if they actually make any difference. |

Logitech mice all the way, hate Razer mice, but Razer mouse mats are great, i have the huge white razer porcelain mat with 2 different surfaces and i wouldnt live without it, adds so much precision to gaming |

Also thinking about the MX518 as its around the same price and spec as the razer one. Especially if the G5 is a bit flakey, dont really want to stretch to £40 odd quid for the G9. Yes i am a skinflint and no i dont know anyone i could steal one off!

razer all the way .logitech mice are designed for palming the mouse and not using your fingers to move the mouse. while razer offer great desige that is ambidextrous. and that dosent look like something that comes out my rear end. |

When it comes to mice imo its one of the most imprortant pieces of kit for gaming the g9 is excellent and has tons of costomization to make it perfect for what you want i use it with the small grip and no weght but you can have the larger grip if you like to rest your hand more but it makes it heavier. |

I've got the G5 and a Razor exactMat, they are fantastic and the mouse is very comfy to hold.

I used to use an MX510 and i upgraded to the new MX710 I think it is - almost identical its like going from one vagina to another feels almost the same but with a few differences around the edges.
None of that high powered weight changing, buttons everywhere malarky just a plan and simple sexy little bugger - Not that I am using it much at the moment. Also I have made a lego wii controller that I have attached to the wife so I can slap her wherever I am. |

ive used a MX518 and its perfect i reckon
as for a mat.... i dont know if theres anything better than the desktop tbh - ive tried loads and they all get a bit "claggy" after a while so desktops gotta be easiest to keep clean
