What server?

Me and my mates are gonna be playing this and some of you lot as well. Now we want to make a guild and aim for building our own city and taking over stuff int eh border kingdoms. But i would like anyone from Res whos playing to join us as well.

Server names havnt been released yet but the server type have. Vote on the poll which one you would wanna play on.

PVE - standard sorta MMO play. PVP limited to instaned scenarios and the Broder Kingdoms(captuarable stuff, large scale battles)

RP - its PVE but well, your role play

PVP - As far as i know its PVP everywhere, everyzone, but im not sure about inside towns and cities. Or if guards attack you if you start a fight.

RP PVP - Same as above but in RP

It's not one you have to pay a monthly thing for is it? I refuse to have to pay to play a game every month.

I found this bit os info about the Age of Conan Subscription...

It is important to tell players that the first 20 levels, the single player experience, will not feature a subscription fee. If you buy the game, you can play this portion for as long as you want, without subscription. It is only in the next 60 levels, the more “normal” MMO portion (though this game is no true MMO, but rather an Online Action RPG) there will be a subscription.

Always a difficult one keeping a big new game within the confines of a small group, especially if we have limited numbers of people interested. It may be best to see how many people are interested and retain that interest once the "free" month is over.

I have several gaming friends (from|2es/Fightclub/Everlasting/Sheeplovers.com) who will be AoC'ing and will probably gravitate towards wherever the most interest lies, a friendless MMO is pointless in my opinion Wink

Hopefully we shall be able to amass a group of keen, beer drinking cutthroats and get a decent sized guild going.

As for server, I want PvP and PvE so it may be worth waiting for more info to come from funcom before this choice is clear.

Yea if its not possible to get enough interest then I see your point totally, but for a start I think we should definately think about forming a |2esurrection guild if the game is actually good and becomes popular Very Happy

Am patching my beta client, guess i'll try it again. Maybe having folk to chat to will encourage me to actually get to the MMO part of it..

All of the people against paying subs for a game each month, you have to remember that decent mmo's give great support and the game worlds are sooo huge that it costs alot of money to run these servers , i mean damn the WoW server i am on has 23,000 people on it so you can imagine the cost to run it.

Yeah guild wars was fun, had no monthly sub, but lacked depth and only had 20 lvls of leveling.

I will be trying AoC out and depending how into i get i might be tempted to buy it, but the last mmo i bought everyone ditched rather quickly.

Also you guys have to remember, PvP servers are fun and all but if you don't level super quick and donate most of ur time to keeping up with the big guns you will get ganked ALOT while trying to level by the no lifers.

Hardly played it to be honest. Like i said though I'm patching and might have another go tonight. When i played it last, it was pretty ugly and the UI was crap withy most stuff unlabelled and I didnt have the patience to work out what did what. Should be in a much more 'finished' state now though.
