Conan and recruitment.

What we going to do then? Will we be recruiting in AoC (presuming a few of like it enough to stick with it)? I know Brune knows a couple of guys from Everlasting that will be playing and Scopey mentioned about some people too. Do we open the 2es doors to people and if we do, do we hold the normal sub?

I ask as recruitment for MMO is a little different than the online games we have so far. We of course have server costs hence the subscription. For AoC though as a clan we don't have that. The only cost involved is for TS.

Also i fully expect 'spies' to become a part of endgame pvp - passing info etc on attacks and guild movements to rivals and enemies etc. Anyone had thoughts on this?

Very difficult situation and will need much thought... members who come here will like to play other games I am sure. What happens if they say " yea um up for a game of cod4, BF2, BF2142 or any other game we may have at the time! "
We will have to say sorry you dont pay subs? lol
We do have a very awkward situation here, not sure if we should go down that road but at the same time I dont want to stand in the way of the gaming experience and understand to create a guild needs a fair few members.

we need to recruit in game, no doubt about it. you need alot of people to get a city.but how about we do something like. you join and get the guild in game and the forums for nothing, but wanna use TS, pay the sub?

I agree it's tricky hence I brought it up now rather than wait for it to be an issue 'now'.

I don't think there is any way to justify a sub for those that only play AoC tbh and if we tried recruitment would be somewhere close to zero I guess - I just am not sure the MMO crowd in general would pay for TS? Previous groups I have been in, only a few of us payed for the TS.

I am no tkeen on the idea of clan members that do not use TS, past experience tells me they tend to be free loaders sheltering under the tags and would in many cases be no benefit to us. More likely to be a hindrance running around shouting if you gank me my guild will gank you back than actually come help any of us out. They wont feel part of the community as we wont be using the in game chat we will be using TS..

What about this, they can join on TS on a trial as now but can join as AoC only for free. They only get access to Conan TS rooms and general forum access but not to the private sub forums? If they want TS for other games they pay the normal sub?

Definately worth thinking about but please remember they are still on trial and will have to be 20+ years etc.

Definitely. Wouldn't want to change the age or trial thingie at all. I'de rather ram a rusty pitchfork in my ear than play with a whiney 14 year old on TS.

Don't worry, i'm not going anywhere, whiney adults continue to be fine though. Wink

These idea`s are great as long as we make sure we find any underlying issues that could upset the community ballance in some shape or form.
So keep up the idea`s Very Happy
