A friend of mine just had the 2009 version  He managed to dowload a program that shut it down and I just deleted the install folder and all was cool  I mean at first the folder could not be deleted as the virus was active so once shut down the install folder just needed deleting.

I used Duffer's suggestion i.e. AdWare and its worked fine
