Great stuff, looking forward to this. We must arrange a big MP session on release. I think I heard you could have up to four 3 man teams going head to head |

Aye it is strategy m8. Skirmishing to take control of victory points etc. DoW is less micro management and more about fighting!
| Quote: |
One of the best things about Relic Entertainment is that it's never content to just sit on its laurels and pump out a derivative sequel. That's the essence of what makes Dawn of War II so exciting. The single-player game has been re-worked to go away from the RTS standard of millions of disposable units conquering objectives, moving instead to persistent squads of troopers that will grow and change as the player takes them through the single-player campaign. As players battle across the stars, they'll take five squadrons of Space Marines with distinctive powers and abilities into fights against the Orks, Eldar and (finally!) Tyranid, upgrading and molding them to their playstyle using an MMO-like system of "dropped" equipment.
In multiplayer, a similar standard applies as players of all four races battle in small-scale skirmishes that eschew base building and logistics in favor of re-gearing units and protecting veterans. In short, it looks like everything we wanted but nothing we expected and we're seriously jonesed about the chance to once again fight in the Emperor's name! |
