Yes tried several installs, all compatability modes and running as administraotr and iTunes is flat out not syncing with my devices. Have since removed iTunes from my system till they release an win 7 compatable version. Gone back to using winamp, havent used it in years forgot how good a prog it is.

I'm upgrading my mother board from Gigabyte GA-945GZM-S2 which is old and crappy to the new Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-US2H.

I've read that if I've got the OEM version of Vista ( which I think I do - I'm checking... ) then I may have problems rebooting as it will be considered as a 'ew computer' requiring a new OS.

If I've got the ISO of Windows 7 on a disc, when I've installed the motherboard, could I install 7 directly onto the computer to avoid the issues with Vista ? Any ideas guys ?

Thanks.

You can do a fresh install if you burn the iso image to disk using nero or another program capable of burning images.
The just use it as a fresh install on boot up Very Happy
Windows 7 can only upgrade from vista installed but fresh installs are ok Wink
cheers

Cool Mrix, thanks.

I've copied the .iso onto a disc so its ready. I've done my backup last night which is why I only turned up at 11pm. Should have done that damn thing over night. it took AGES Exclamation
I'm hoping to get the motherboard and cpu into the computer over the next few days though I have to find a time when Isabella and her tiny, sticky little hands are not around.
Then it will be time for Windows 7 and with a bit of overtime a new Graphics card. Then it will be 'evil laugh' time Laughing Laughing

Thanks mate, I'm really excited about getting a decent rig.
It still wont compete with the i7's and top range gear but at least it wont be like a ZX Spectrum Embarassed
Saving for the Graphics card and then its time for the Monitor then watch your backs boys Twisted Evil

Its just a pleasure to play on some decent equipment. Thats what I'm buzzing for.
