I do not know if this has been posted before but,
As Battlefield Bad Company 2 comes out next week, I'll tell you about the Day 1 map pack that is available to all players who purchase the game and apply their VIP code which comes with the game at no extra charge. The map pack contains two new maps which are the Rush map, Nelson Bay and the Conquest map, Laguna Alta which you can check out in the video now. The maps will be available from March 2nd which will allow the lucky North America players to get access and practice while us Europeans wait a few days more.
Later in March another map pack will be released containing Arica Harbor for Conquest and Laguna Presa for Rush
PC players will get the content as a game update."
Link to new video.

edit - just found this

John Riccitiello's "Project Ten Dollar" endeavor -- in which EA looks to combat used-game sales by offering free DLC goodies with new purchases -- has another game marching under its banner: Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Just like Mass Effect 2, the game will ship with a code that enables access to free DLC. The first batch of add-on content for DICE's shooter will be a set of new multiplayer maps, MTV Multiplayer reports.
"In the future you will get more content, for free, if you have this VIP code," noted producer Patrick Bach, describing a free content delivery mechanism similar to BioWare's Cerberus Network. Also of note: the VIP code will be attached to your EA.com account, so make sure you keep potential hazards in mind if you buy Bad Company 2 when it launches on March 2, 2010. |

Missing MW2 turned out to be a non issue for me in the end. Totally gutted about BC2 though. Looking more and more awesome. Going to be ages till I have the cash for the mobo/cpu/ram upgrade that can cope with the latest games.
Greaty to see a new BF game hitting the spot though. |

VIP account is in relation to XBox
PC gamers get the maps free - hopefully this will continue - especially now that Activision and IW have sold their souls to micro-softcock |
