Out of curiosity if I had between £100 and £150 what sort of graphics cards would Res members recommend? |

I have the Radeon 4850 but think the 4870 is better in your price range.
I want the 5850 but thats £185, so slightly out of your bracket.
5870 is the Radeon DX11 beast but thats around £250-£300.
mmm, I want to go shopping. |

if your thinking of buying i'd wait for the new nvidea cards to be released, will push down the price of the older cards. |

Currently this is meant to kick some ass considering it's price!
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5770 Vapor-X 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Find some reviews it is a very good mid-range card. (I know it's ATI but you can't have everything!) |

Brune that ATI card is very tempting direct x 1 fro less than £150 cannot be snubbed at even by a Nvidea junkie like myself. Will hold out until after march me thinks but still gonna keep an eye on the post and prob bump after march. £150 is most definatly the max my wallet is going to touch I'm afraid times not as good financially as they were at the moment all my funds tied up in mother-in laws home and she going through divorce arggghhh!! |

I read a post over the net where someone said the graphics quality from DX9 to DX11 in his words were "Staggering"
Think we need to ask Captreddog to see what he thinks
Or anyone else who has a DX11 card???????
Cheers

SAPPHIRE introduces the SAPPHIRE HD 5750 Vapor-X, with the configuration of 720 stream processors and 1GB of GDDR5 memory offering users access to the same new generation technology, and full DirectX 11 support at a lower price point. The Vapor-X cooler runs cooler and more quietly than other solutions, increasing reliability and allowing enthusiast users significantly greater headroom for performance tuning.
Vapor-X Cooling
Vapor Chamber Technology is based on the same principles as heatpipe technology. A liquid coolant is vaporised at a hot surface, the resulting vapor is condensed at a cold surface then the liquid is returned to the hot surface. The recirculation process is controlled by a patented wick system.
SAPPHIRE Vapor-X flattens the whole system into a slim chamber - which in the graphics application is mounted in contact with the surface of the graphics chip.
I/O Output: Dual DL-DVI-I+DP+HDMI, Triple Display Support
Core Clock: 860 MHz
Memory Clock: Effective 4800 MHz
PCI Express 2.1 x16 bus interface
1024MB /128bit GDDR5 memory interface
Dual Slot Cooler with Auto Fan Control
On-board HDMI, supports HDMI 1.3 with High Bitrate Audio
On-board DisplayPort
Maximum Board Power: 108 Watt; Idle Board Power: 18 Watt
