"We have just distributed a new server version named R7 to the server hosts.
Early signs from the hosts are good with 20% less load on the server CPU, improved hit detection, Veteran rank handling is fixed so you should get your M1 Garand back now plus some other fixes to better help the server hosting companies and better management of Punkbuster ID's."
Also "autobalance is being discussed quite a lot today within DICE so you can probably expect to see that being addressed in the near future." |

I'd like confirmation from a Res member or 2 that the hit detection has actually been fixed one of the things keeping me from playing BC2 atm. |

Cyrus make sure your "RenderAheadLimit" matches in your BFBC2 settings file to your nvidia control panel settings for "RenderAheadLimit"..0-3 is the recommended settings dependant on your gfx card. |

How would you know what it should be?

Just been reading up on this topic around the net
It appears certain settings work better with different hardware.
Some who have set this to 0 are getting a fps increase and some are getting worst.
Some set it high at 3 which works great for some and worst for others.
My personal test is going to set up fraps now and see if there is a difference.
Cheers

From what ive read the lower you go reduces the load on the cpu which in turn improves hit detection. On the flip side if you have a week GPU you can suffer with poor frame rates and a not so smooth gaming experience.
I tryed 0 and did see a improvement, but did have some slow downs in places,so tonight i may try 1 and see if it smooths things out abit. |
