im thinking of fitting a water cooler to my pc for the cpu and vid card but im slightly nervous mainly because i cant find a kit where i can check out the instructions first
ive looked on o/c's site (sorry mrix) and they do have one but i need to be sure i can sort this before i fork out
the case ive got is an Antec 1200 - GTX295 - i7 920
there are a couple of likely looking holes for tubing in the back of the case but id rather have everything inside if poss
im not hung up on the kit thing btw it just seemed like the best idea so any suggestions please
cheers

Hi ElGordo
First lift pc and drop into fish tank and you pc is instantly cooled,,,,but you will kill your fish
and don't reach in to try to save your fish because it will stop your pacemaker....
Seriously, there is a couple of kits you could try and the write ups are very good!
With both units I would suggest purchasing another fan and mount it a push / pull configuration and I'm sure that will give you excellent cooling !
Both of these units are entry models but with that said they both perform as well as some of the bigger names in water cooling.
Cheers Alonzo - thanks for those links but i really need a system (just like those) which does the Video card as well and it doesnt look like they are "expandable"
any other thoughts ?

I once tried watercooling mine by pissing on it, but didnt have the desired effect and proved difficult to operate the mouse, keys, and aim the liquid cooler all at the same time. Alonzo's idea's sound much better, except the fish tank as after a while algae will start to form on the ram and mobo./

My own personal preference would be to stay away from the kits, ive found they dont perform well underload especially if your overclocking.
If your cooling cpu and gpu then youll need a triple radiator minimum anything less will struggle to keep temps down(Thermochill).
A powerfull pump (Laing DDC)
1/2" hosing you will also need (Tygon)(Always buy more then you need)
Hose Clips (Jubilee clips for me,they dont look pretty but theyre your safest bet) or Compression Fittings(havent used these but they look nice)
1/2" Barbs
Good water blocks...dont scrimp on these (Swiftech).
Resevoir(No preference...pick what looks good)
Coolant (Primochill Ice)
Note - Once built make sure you dont let the pump run dry when filling and bleeding!
Your 1st port of call is to check your case and measure up where your gonna fit the radiator, fans and pump.If you aint got the room then its time to upgrade!
As for shops you wont go far wrong from the ones Alonso listed,i used all of them on my build.

Thanks for taking the trouble to find the vids Bulldog
i think it looks a bit out of my league and feel im gonna go down the "pre built" route - i dont overclock this stuff massively anyway
Coolit have a new GPU system with an interchangeable plate so you can just get a replacement when you upgrade the video card but im not sure if its out yet and i think im going for the ECO C120 A.L.C. for the CPU tho im not sure what the differences are between the models
i'll let you know how it goes
thanks again

As we were chatting the other night Elgordo about the Coolit cooling system I decided to have a search around youtube and come up with this video.
First he is chatting about the cpu solutions starting with the basic to their advanced cpu coolers with built in temp monitors and other tweaks, then onto their GPU solution.
Cheers

That GPU solution looks great, very neat and tidy.
What I would say with coolit, I have the domino for the CPU, its quite load, even on the middle setting. However still quieter than the GPU fans on the 5850 running at 40%.

They have explained they have changed a lot with the cpu cooler and made it far quieter than before , infact he states that you have to put your ear close to it to hear anything.
Cheers

It seems like a typical sales offensive....build buyers hopes up with technology advances that arent directly linked to the job in hand.
-What temp does the cpu reach under this cooling solution?
-What temp does the gpus reach under this cooling solution?
-Where are the results and Graphs?
They dont hit you with the essential information but try to sell you a gimmick you will use for like 5 seconds....you gonna look at the cpu block for temps when gaming all the time....?
-You going to care about the pulsing lights?
-I cant hear my water pump!
-Wireless connectivity....to me that could bring unreliablity issues!..plus wiring is easy to hide
-I do like the adjustable socket setup.
-Maintenance free on a desktop maybe...but gaming rig....i cant see it!(has a design life...so its not certain)
Im all for you guys getting a good deal.....just not convinced by this solution.
