Has BT somehow throttled your usage on this game somehow? have they somehow blocked it their end?
Cheers

I know it would be a waste of money if it didnt work, but have you tried a non steam copy? One straight outta the box?
Also hav i understood you right in that you have 2 seperate telephone wires running from the pole to your house?? Or 1 line to your house then split into 2 seperate lines for sky and bt??
Maybe try sacrificing a lamb or small child ? |

2 seperate wires from the pole - 2 seperate sockets in the wall
and ............ ive had my eldest daughters ex boyfriend (he's a BT engineer ) rewire BOTH and run tests on the lines
havent tried the boxed version but Chaos did i think, without sucess - not tried the lamb/child thing but might consider it given that if it didnt work at least ive got lunch for sunday .... either way |

done a little reading, my guess is its not down to your system as such, but either a sound issue or a prob with steam.
Try changing your sound settings to 16 bit cd quality 44100hz
Read something else that suggested it may be a steam prob, as people have played ok when they have no steam friends online, but once a few friends come online the prob starts.
If your gonna go ahead and build a new system, maybe try 1st just buying the mobo, swap all your bits over and try that. This would rule out your mobo's onboard sound and lan etc. If it doesn't work, then at least you've got the 1st bit for your new system. If it works you've saved a bundle.
Most of the posts i've read about this prob were with asus mobo's, so may be related to their sound etc. But i'm suspicious of the steam thing.
I'm not a fan of steam at all. It's just another possible problem, and you have to have it running to play the games, which uses more cpu power and bandwidth. Most peeps hav no probs at all with it. The resources used are minimal, but why waste em! also 99% of time can buy game form play or game for less. |
