Thanks Rogue , ive read of this before , not really had problem with it , but there are issues not raised in the article which can have a bearing such as PSU load , driver profiles , game compatability , crossfire configs, resolution of monitor, type of card , whether your board supports 2 x 16 pcie or 2 x 8 ,mother board chipset etc, the list is endless .
The main reason for me was being able to turn on all bells and whistles , have max monitor rate and get a playable frame rate , anything above the eye can process is overkill anyway , using matched cards from the same vendor is the best way to avoid issues and crossfire certainlly managed to tick the boxes without having to sacrifice a child to pay for the ultimate in cards !. i origionally went for ATI for the eyefinity 3 screen and bought 3 monitors , game play is fantastic but gives you sea sickness on first person games !!! , the only downside is you need to have a profile for ech game you want to play in ,but this also gives ati a chance to configure the cards to run a particular game at the best rate possible |

Also Capt, you might not have much longer to wait for your Bulldozer cpu. A site has listed 3 chips for pre order, and they're going to be cheaper than originally expected.
This may be bad news though, the original price rumoured for the FX 8150 which is the top of their range cpu, was $300-$320, but its listed on the site for $269. This is around $40 dollars cheaper then the Intel i72600k which it is meant to compete with (and many were hoping it would compete with some of the lower Sandybridge E i7's due out soon) so this might suggest that it may not be able to compete with these cpu's on performance after all. I hope this turns out to be not the case, competition is good for all of us whether you buy AMD or Intel. It drives down prices and pushes manufacturers to keep improving their products. I have no preference who makes what, my only interest is the best product for my money and whether the label says AMD or Intel makes no odds, but I was really hoping that these cpu's would be good. No way to know for sure though untill they're on the shelves and somebody tests them. |

Have you ordered the extra 6970 card yet Dog ??
Some details of the 7900 series cards due out late this yr or (more likely) early next year.

The 7950 and 7970 will use XDR2 ram, which will run at 7200MHZ for the 7950 and 8000MHZ for the 7970. These 2 cards will also use AMD's new GCN architecture (whatever that is).
Might be worth holding out for a while and just use the one 6970 for a while ?? |

Any advice on the best way to ghost over my HDD to SSD if purchased?
What programs did you guys use when buying yr SSD?

Hello Bob, to get the very best from your SSD you need to go to the bios and change the control mode from IDE to ACHI this greatly improves the performance of a SSD drive.
You do not Defrag SSD`S!!! they use something called Trim which can be enabled once your operating system has been installed.

ghosting from ide to ssd is very difficult as the strorage medium is different ,ssb store in a differnet way and problams can occur with data loss when trying to ghost files witha program such as norton ghost , better to buy a cheap 1tb usb external dirve , copy all your files to there and do a fresh install of windows |

dabs have a 120gb ocz ssd for £120 , ggod value , get 2 and try raid , thats my next thing lol |

You still going the watercooling route dog ?? Have you got a case yet ?
I dont know a lot about ssd's to be honest Bob so can't help you out there. But I suspect a fresh install as dog said would be best.
I've read a few good reviews for the Crucial M4 ssd's, there has also been a firmware update released for them that has increased their performance giving them the better of the OCZ equivilant, so I'd go for one. |

Just had a quick read about RAID 0, as to be honest, I know sweet f a about it. There seem to be a lot of mixed views about using it. Reliability seems to be a bigger problem as you can suffer data loss. Another thing I read says that RAID 0 is only really good for larger files, and wont much improve speeds for smaller files.
So whats the story with it? Eg, would 2 x 64GB drives be better than 1 x 128GB? Or would fire up my pc one day for a few rounds of BF3 only to find that its vanished? Does it significantly improve the performance of the ssd's for loading up and playing games? When I do build a new rig, which is a while off yet, it will be pretty much used for gaming and internet and nothing else. Rogue jnr will prob inherit this rig, and his rig will be converted to a home theatre pc for films, music, and pics etc, leaving the new pc with nothing more to do than run BF3 in all its glory. Would the performance for this use justify the extra cash?????? |

Yes this has always been the case with raid0, the chances of files getting corrupted are pretty low, I have used raid0 many times over the years and never having a problem, with SSD`s from one review I read is that they are far more reliable in raid0.
I have no problem at all going raid0 again, my biggest problem is finding another limited addition drive to match the one I already have 
I guess the best option once you have everything installed and set up running sweet if just to create a Windows System image for backup
