never saw the point in "resetting stats " , just ban the Scumbags , using cheats and aimbots etc is a violation of the EAULA . if someone is using a hack then resetting stats will hardly upset them , some of these dicks have rank 70 with only 16 hours play , so resetting stats will really make them quake wont it  |

Have to agree, it is utterly pointless. Ban them. PC game makers should get together to somehow create a universal banning system. So if you are caught hacking you are banned from playing online in any game for a set period of time. Don't ask me how this would work, I really haven't put that much thought into it ????? |

there is already a system of computer id where you are idendified by your computer setup , windows 7 uses a similar system to identify your computer components and ties it to your serial number in an algorithum so as to prevent multiple computer uses with one disc . This had been used for cheat banning before , the only way to get back into the game is to radically alter your system , new mother board ,graphics card etc .
Even balance I.E Punkbuster has the facilty to hardware ban but they only seem to use it if the hack or cheat "interferes" with punkbusters normal operation I.E breaks punkbusters own EULA , any other game hack is usually a GUID ban , or global user id ban ,which is not too hard to circumvent and hackers are not stupid enough to interfere with the program itself ,rarher they circumvent it.Punkbusters id system uses a combination of the serial key and certain serial numbers of your hardware to give you a unique id ,its usually you hard drives serial numbers coupled with your mainboard or graphics card ,but for safety reasons evenbalance dont tell anyone exactly how this is generated ,but a hardware ban is permanent and covers all software which uses punkbuster .
i agree with you Rogue...its about time its used for cheats full stop , its lot less appealing to cheat if the risk is having your computer banned from all punkbuster online games , gets a bit more expensive that way |
