ok guys i know most of the clan are English but i though i would make a post regarding the 2 bills going through the us senate and house of reps the reason why i am talking about this is if these bills pass in the usa you can bet ya bottom dollar there will be similar ones that go thru the uk parliament or worse the eu parliament

sopa stands for Stop Online Piracy Act
pipa stands for Protection of Intellectual Property Act

the online community are up in arms against this so much wikipedia has blacked out its pages amazon.com have post up and other sites are doing the same

these bills are aimed at stopping online pirating websites from out of the us via blocking them i.e if your a website hosted in the uk and you get most of your viewers from America you could find your main stream of income cut off as people wont be able to get on your site

like for instance if you have a forums like this one and a spammer comes on and post "get free movies here" and you are asleep or not at the computer and someone in the know sees it they could get your site blocked AND EVEN TELL GOOGLE NOT TO PAY YOU for your adsence

these to bills are worded so ambiguously that it would have serious repercussions for instance google could go bye bye and youtube forget it

i urge anyone in america to ring the representatives and say you are against these bills or if you know someone in america tell them to do so
