Can U play BF2 'offline' ?

Okay, maybe I missed something really obvious (doh!) but is there a way to play BF2 when you're not connected to the internet Question

Stuck in my lonely hotel room with no access to web so thought I'd play some single player stuff .... came unstuck everytime 'cos BF2 would make me 'select profile' then dump me out saying 'check your network connection' or summat like that Evil or Very Mad

Tried reading the manual (there's a first Confused

), starting game from DVD, from program menu, from desktop icon but all to no avail, bloody game seems to insist on having an internet connection even for single player?

I could be wrong here so some enlightened person please correct this poor simple yokel ......

Go to EA games support page at their website and you will find all the faq's you could possibly use my friend.

Also, if you read the game box it list's required hardware and software to play game. If modem is not listed then obviously there is a way to play offline. To be honest, I never tried to play single player offline.
My game actually uses nomenclature when loading single player that sounds like you are starting up a game as the host. The thing is, only bots show up and they don't party like pubbies and smakkies, eh? Razz
