If everyone is only just buying it - i should be able to win some matches - i've been playing PES for years so i must get some kind of advantage Razz

I'm no world class player, but i know the game and can play reasonably well - if any of you that are buying it for the first time have any questions, just ask, and i'm sure Slaggy won't mind answering some questions either, weather it be the online aspect or gameplay related.

pish posh, forget about pes, play mario strikers charged. i mean its soccer, only with ghosts, giant monkeys,deadly noxious gas clouds(coming from someone arse), giant plumbers,crocodile goalies.

anyway im just kidding pes is a great soccer game for those that dont like crocodiles for some wierd reasons.

like anything, i have my good and bad days - been playing since PES4.

Not that good at it though, but good enough lol.

Tonight isn't good unfortunately - i have to go and fix my g/f's grans computer - which is having internet problems, and they use AOL dial-up, so i can see me killing myself before the end of the night.

But then my gf goes on holiday, so really any night for the next week or so from 8pm on wednesday Smile

. Maybe a couple of others will have it by tomorrow. I have played PES since International Superstar Soccer (ISS) its predecessor. I havent played PES while I have had BF2 but its still the game I have played most. I reckon well have some great matches Very Happy

Yeh, i'm sure we will have some good matches - As you are probably aware teh only hit and miss aspects seem to be the quality of the Konami servers.

For the most part it's best to play after 10pm for minimum lag and problems

yeah ISS was the predecessor (loved the SNES and N64 incarnations) until a diff team took over and ruined ISS completely, thankfully Winning Eleven (PRO EVO) came out unscaved and has been progressing ever since, unlike fifa... lol. I've also been playing the game since it first came out Razz

only problem is, if i do buy the pc version, i'll be in canada from Saturday so my lag will be pretty crap! Surprised

I've played it since ISS64, but never online before!

Its the hardest game to get hold of it seems too.

Fifa used to be alright years ago for eg World Cup 96 (I think, used to play on Megadrive). Fifa was fine on the ps2, then all of a sudden when I bought a Fifa for the PC they made it all to technical. It seemed to be you'd have to do some weired button combination (simular to a "arrdooken - Street Fighter) just to do a first time pass.

Im sure Ive seen / read forums showing how to put fifa's commentary / music into PES but I dont know about that, sounds a bit dodgy to me.

If this progresses as it looks like we will it might be worth researching how to upload our replays so we can show off to each other.

The New/most recent Pes (6) dosent seem to base its difficulty levels on stars. I could only play the PC on 2 stars before if I wanted an interesting game in which I score. Im hoping the new way of setting skill will help me.

Couple of questions:

Does it lag like (my) BF2? Does it hammer your systems resorces (my) like BF2?

Alot of people play PES on laptops, so it's not as graphics hungry or system hungry as BF2 would be.

As for lag - depends... They way it works is that you host on half and your opponent hosts the other which leaves a big gap for cheating by using 'clever lag' I've not had tooo many problems but it can be an issue

The only way you can improve is by playing people better than you, so crank that difficulty up Smile

I'm pretty sure teh only way to get replays up is to use fraps or the like.

My big worry is getting a constant spanking at this. I used to play Fifa years ago and thought I was great until I went to my mates house and watched as his whole family except his Ma' kicked my ass one after another. Embarassed

I got my Master League on the equivilant of 2 stars I think, I did try higher but couldn't score or keep the ball.

What I need to do is do the training and concentrate on things like close control or keeping the ball etc. I can bang the free kicks in on training as you go up the levels but when it comes to a game Im hopeless.

Well last night we were playing 2v2 so if you get constantly spanked so would someone else Smile

Although we had some good close games - if you decide to get it and have a play i'll be more than happy to help you through things, play some matches so you can get to grips with it.

Then on the 2v2 just go on the opposite team to Slaggy as he has the patience of.... i dunno - but he don't have any Smile

But no one was taking it that seriously and everyone had a good laugh and giggles were applenty - if not for Systers Own goal of the season.
