Night of the long knives ....

Right looking for advice on getting me knife badge, have only ever got 4 knife kills in 2 years of play, but need it for promotion Sad

So normal routine for me is to run around any map with knife out, slash wildly and get gunned down in a frenzy of automatic gunfire and laughter - I mean FFS knife versus semi-automatic rifle, it's a one sided affair!

So how the feck do all these 'slashers' out there do it, am I doing something wrong, has my freaking BF2 player got a huge sign above it saying "this twat is armed with a pointy metal object, please cut him down in a hail of supersonic lead projectiles"?

Any help appreciated, or willing victims Wink

the easiest way to do it is go on a knife only server Wink

its abit of a laugh aswell

Many used to use Knife and pistol only servers which I personally found lame Crying or Very sad

not sure if they are still around Question

I got my basic knife badge and that was hard enough Laughing

I got mine with a bit of help from alonzo.
It was on sharqi in the building at the bottom of the map opposite the flag.
Alonzo was playing sniper and as I lay in wait for ppl to enter the building he'd give me a heads up from a rooftop across the road.. must admit I did have to do a bit of running around as well killing a few snipers that were lying down and not pay to much attention.
Willing to lend a hand if fancy a game.

Grab a med kit (replenish your self, and they are more athletic), make sure your in a squad (revives) and hunt snipers or the oppo commander. As suggested Karkand is good. If you are in a squad they might be able to help you with Flash or Smoke 'nades. The 1st small square from Usmc (right arty spawn) to Hotel can be great with flash or smoke. Be prepared to dance and move. Good Luck, its hard.

getting the knive badge is not as difficult as you think
play as snipper - the snipper looks very similar which ever team you are on, unlike the rest of the kits
use this to your advantage - it can sometimes fool the enemy into thinking your on his team, then let the idiot feel your steel!!!
play karand - around the hotel flag is the best place, as US spawn at the righthand side spawn and sprint staight forward down the road till you get past hotel, then turn left and come in behind the hotel flag
you will be suprissed how many of the enemy are only looking towards the US spawn points - sneak around and stab away
when someone spots you, charge at them using the bunny hoping technique Wink

most enemy will panic and spray wildly trying to kill you, with a bit of luck you will survive until they run out of ammo, then take them down!

Cheers for all the advise peeps, I like the sniper advice as I have in the past been wasted by some grubby looking pikey with foliage hanging off him, thinking he was one of our team Embarassed

Oh well, K/D ratio will have to suffer I guess to get the badge!

Hey munt! Nice to see you back on the forums! The best advice i can give for knifing is to set up a button to switch to knife, then perfect diving on peeps who are proned without them killing you. Thats where most knife kills come from i would say, if someone is proned capping a flag, easy target if you get a good run up!

This is one of my favorite pasttimes now, knifing people.

I like taking it on as a personal challenge now running into towards people jumping around eratically so they get confused then bang knife to the head!!! make sure u drop the balls in their face just to rub it in they had a gun and u had a knife!!

They knife badge is a lot easier then it used to be, u only need 7 in a round for your basic now and then 50 in total and 100 in total.
It was harder when it was 25 kills in a round!!!!

I found the easies way to do it when I first did my knife badge was on Sharqui When I was on the US side

The entrance to the city on the hills is ridiled with snipers that are begging for a jab just make ur way up behind them and stab away!!

Im sure u will master it but as u say when u start early doors u have to suffer the kills to learn, htere is no beta feeling though stabbing someone!! Il never forget my 28 in a round!!
