Hi,

After 5 games so far who do you think will do well this season and who do you think will play bad ? I know its still early doors but I think my mind is made up on who will win and who will get relegated from the premiership !

Winners - Liverpool ( I hope,but after the 6 - 0 win its the best performance in a long time ! )
Second - Man utd
Third - Chelsea

Relegated -Sunderland, Bolton, Derby

Top Scorer - Fernando Torres , Didier Drogba , Nicholas Anelka

Anyways that's my opinion what's yours?

Geordie Very Happy

Well Manchester United are playing crap due to injuries, Liverpool are playing damn good but come on they do have a great squad now and maybe its finally gonna happen after all these years.

If Arsenal or Chelsea win the league i'm gonna go on a killing spree, i hate them with a passion.

I think it is a little too soon to say owt really. Even if united were top after 5 games i would not be tipping them for the title. I was certainly happy as larry to see Chelsea lose at the weekend!

I think United are actually playing (on the whole) the best football and that will hopefully prevail. After all we have the best manager, the best players, THE best player in the world and the best temprement. Lets just hope we are not denied the amazing football we saw last season because of prolonged injuries and people playing with 11 men behind the ball and going man for man on every player!

Rant over!

Got to stick my oar in.

It was good to see Liverpool top this weekend and Everton 2nd.

Odds at the mo are Liverpool 9/4 to win title. Razz

But it is still early days, there may be some mileage in the bet for United getting relegated this season Wink

Looking forward to the rest of the season, for some awesome football from the likes of Gerrard, Kuyt, Torres and the team.

Oh suppose I better mention Rafa Benitez who puts in some effort as well.

"You'll never walk alone" cos there is always somebody propping us up.

Cya laters

1. Liverpool
2. Arsenal

.
20. United and Chelsea Embarassed Well you can hope cant you.

I think UTD are a very good team but Ive gotta disagree with you LT,they are not playing the best football at the min or they would be top ! I'm not trying to be biased because I support Liverpool but they do look awesome at the minute ! however its still early days and things can change pretty quickly in football.

I think where the difference can be found on the bench and up front.

Liverpool - Good forward line, power, pace, tall and small. World class players all over the pitch for once and a well respected tactically asstute manager. The best bench in the league, you could argue best squad.

Chelsea - As per Liverpool but Liverpool don't loose main striker to African Nations Cup. The team are often nervous about having a new boss the media don't leave Mouriniho alone. That don't mean I support him in any way.

Man Utd - Forwards are Simular (Rooney and Tevez, same runs etc), you can't vouch for Saha being fit fo more thanr 50% of the time. Wouldn't have that problem if Ruud was still here. I reckon they will buy a Striker in Jan. Missing Larsson and will do this season shame that Rossi has gone, and Smith for that matter.

Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle will be sniffing around and hoping to make the leap within 3/4 years. I put Arsenal in this bracket as they havent seemed to replace Henry, yet. Maybe Theo is the replacement but even so its an "If". Spurs are building and I reckon their best chance is NOT sacking Jol, afterall its his team he has built. Newcastle got a good front two and have got rid of Bramble and have the best English manager. He should be national coach but would be wasted for months on end while nothing happens.

We can only look on in envy from this side of the bridge at Englands riches. Pennant, Bentley, Gary o'neill, Coker, Carson, Andy Johnson for eg's would all walk into our national team yet don't get a game for England.

Its the best league in the world, no doubt about that and I think this season will be one of the best now that its not about just the TOP TWO.

We (being Liverpool of course) are playing some bloody good stuff in patrches at the moment, i actually think there is a lot more to come from us overall though, there have been long stretches of some games where we dont really do much and i'd like to see us maintain the possesion and pressure for longer periods. On top of that the strenght of the squad is impressive. Mascherano in my opinion is right up there with Gerrard as one of the best midfielders in the world and he'll not hold done a first team spot every game due to Alonso (who prior to his goals at weekend had been pretty poor by his standards). Oh and forget Torres, how good is Voronin looking! I'm really excited about the season but i dont want to get to ahead of myself, though at last we will surely put in a real challenge at least.

Chelseas main issue i think as said will be the African Nations, they simply dont have anyone to fill Drogbas shoes, 90% (made up stats FTW) of their attacking play comes through him, he allows midfielders to join the attack as well as anyone in the world I'd say. Arsenal without Henry remains to be seen and lets be honest they are about the biggest boots to fill your going to find. United i realy dont know about, despite their shite start to the season (yay) i cant see them being far off though i dont fancy Carrick and Hargreaves in the same midfield myself and i dont think they have even close to the same depth of squad as Liverpool.

I thinkl the league is there for the taking, can we maintain the consistency to do it? I dont know but now is the best chance we have had in a looooooooong time.

I just think the liverpool fans are getting a little hot headed. You are top after 5 games, last season i was not claiming united were so amazing after the first 5 games. Even though we were, 5-0 on the first game of the season and the rest was history.

I think Torres is quality and you have sorted out some of the positions that were dodgy before. I cant help thinking that the rotation policy will disrupt your season eventually when the champions league comes round, that will be interesting. As for the united issue we have two of the best players in the world out. If you took Lampard and Drogba out of chelsea they would not have finished in the top four last season. We are just finding our feet without them both. It proves my point that without Lamps they lost on sunday!

As for uniteds performance they have blitzed most of the opposition, ironically more so the ones that we drew and lost we actually owned the other team 80% of the time.

I think we should have this discussion at christmas when we can really see what is going on. I actually think Liverpool will challenge a lot more this season, i just think United play better football, and have the better players.

LT!

Im a Hammer, so how much intelligents I can throw into this debate it concerning although I believe that u would be betting well on Man U.
They have the depth of squad and players and a manager that knows how to play a premiership season. It dont matter how u start and to be fair after united have lost their key strikers they aint doin to bad.
Dont get me wrong I would love to see Liverpool win the league I think they are a lovely football team to watch play, they are exciting powerful and creative, but all im saying is dont rule out United, if I was a betting man, Id have my pennies on Man U.
As for my team the Happy Hammers I can only hope!
