Call of Duty 4 Server connection timed out

Out of about 10 trys at joining a server I get this Server connection timed out
any ideas. Confused

I got that until I restarted my PC. I had installed and went straight into trying to join a server, don't have a problem now.

yeh, i just keep typing in /reconnect into the console and eventually it lets me on.

Im still getting connection issues so i did abit of research and found a temp fix to the problem.

Instead of typing in the console reconnect ,type in the following

cl_connectionAttempts "60"

This basically extends the connection timer from 11 seconds to 60 or to what ever number you chose. Usually get onto server within 30 seconds.

Not sure if that command is permanent though but below is the permanent command which needs to go in the config_mp.cfg

seta cl_connectionAttempts "60"

Depending on where youve installed the game mine was in the following directory -

Local Disc (C ) Program Files/Activison/Call of duty 4 -modern warfare/players/profiles/"your ingame name"/config_mp

Havent looked in that file yet, so this question might be self-answered, but I was just wondering - do i add that line and if so is there a specific place to put it - or is it already in there and just needs an edit on the number ?

The line might already be there but i was lazy and couldnt bebothered to look for it so i typed it at the end .
