Game crashes

Hi, well I registered here because I have a problem, and I found this as a place where I could find help.
Okay, basically my game just crashes, sometimes I can play 30-40 minutes, sometimes it crashes as I get to a server and trying to choose a kit.
My CPU stats:

What should I do? Is there any more options besides buying more RAM or smth?

Hi,
Although you could probably do with an extra 1gig of ram , your system should run BF2 just fine!
Do you get an error message when the game crashes?
What settings are your gfx options set too?
Before playing are you stopping all non esential processes?
Are your gfx drivers up to date?

No messages, it just closes the game and I'm back in the desktop.
I'll post the GFX options and everything just later.
I stop all the MSN, Bitcomet and stuff, but not the antivirus.
Yes, I downloaded the newest drivers.
I wasn't sure what GFX options you meant, so I took pictures of a few. Very Happy

The last one, I didn't really know what to SS. So I decided to SS the first menu that popped up.

, You could try turning them down to medium although I dont think that is causing your problem.
If your not getting any error message then it may just be an issue that happens to alot of us where the game ctd's (crashes to desktop) for no apparent reason, but it shouldnt be happening every single round! Are you playing the vannila BF2 or one of the mods? as some mods arnt stable and crash all the time.
Also are you playing on servers local to your area , i.e. is your ping under 100?
other than that I dont know what else you could try!! you have updated to patch 1.41 I persume?

Umm, I play in German servers most, my ping varies 50-70.
And no, I haven't updated to 1.41, should I do it?
And I'm not running any mods.

hi mate. you def need to upgrade to latest patch (1.41). my game sometimes crashes too but usually only happens on a very busy part of game when i think my system just gets overwhelmed. though my system is older than yours. i turn off anti virus which i find helps. although i wouldn't recommend it, that decision is up to you as it is risky.

yeah , heres a link to ea and patch 1.41 , its a pretty big download - 536 mb! but after you have it installed you should notice a good improvement with stability ect.Also you should see alot more servers available to play on Very Happy

Okay, well I don't want to upgrade to the newest patch. I like this one, I have friends here.
Could it be, that my friends, have 512MB RAM, and I've got 1GB. Could this ever be the reason? I tried reinstalling the game a few times... Doesn't work.

not updating your game will seriously limit what u can do in regards to ranks etc.

Having more ram then your friends will help you, not hurt.

You may be suffering from overheating problems, memory issues due to cheap ram, or maybe just a wrong setting in your bios.

Hi Lobby.

I have had tihs problem a few times. i have found that 1 you just have to live with it if it happens. and 2 defragmenting your computer, you do this by going into the:

Control panel - performance and maintenance - Rearrange items on your hard disk to make programs run faster- its simple to do but could take any wer between 10 mins too a coupple of hours. just click anaylse and then defragment.

Clicking on -free up space on your hard drive - also may help.

And if you play on it often enough, it seems to crash less. i would put my money on most people who play battle field experence this.
