somebody is going to seriously take the piss im sure... but here goes
Im trying to put my PS3 online. Ive bought a networking cable (RJ45 male/male)
Do i conect it to my PC, or my modem? if somebody could show me how it should be wired that would be awesome! it might be ive got it right, in which case i may need a bit of help with the settings, as it wont find an IP
Cheers

plug it straight into ur router, and don't use the wireless if you want to stream movies, always seems to stutter |

connect it to your modem.....tke the cable out that connects yor pc and put the cable in for you ps3........if you want to use both pc and ps3 at same time you have to get a router i think |

You'd probably be best off buying a hub or router m8, then you just plug the modem into your router / hub and then plug PC + PS3 into router / hub , plus if you use a router you'll have a hardware firewall.
I guess your modem doesn't have wireless on it? not that i would recommend wireless because its so friggin easy to hack into. |

You need to find your IP and enter it manually. |

Try a system restore and then only entering the IP if prompted. |

Once you are on line mate drop me or Slag a line and come join us on COD4.
Setting it up can be a bit tricky. I found the auto setup didnt work and the above are right you need to enter you IP in manually. |

I didn't have to enter mine manually but if all else fails go for it once you get it up and running you can do alot of things with your PS3, including streaming movies and stuff from your pc if they are all hooked up together |
