when I upgrade my computer in a few weeks I want to change to sata2 harddrive how do i transfer vista and my computer to the new hard drive ? vista is a oem version so is partitioned on the drive

Never actually tried that or have the know how, normally people just do backups of what they want to save and do a fresh install etc.

Hi mrix i would have done it that way but I dont have a vista disc its was preinstalled on the hard drive, which is why I need to mirror the whole hard drive |

sorry bud but you cant copy that partition as it is protected and wont allow you to do it
so u need someone with a copy of vista same version that you have too reinstall |

I can get a copy of vista no problem were to I find my serial number |

lol if you bought the machine from a shop
i.e comet cuerrys dixons or what ever a prebulit machine from a store the serial will be on a sticker on the case or in a doc somewhere amoungst the paper work u got |
