If my processor is bad running the Aoc game I was.....

Looking at getting a pentium dual core -E2200-2x2.4ghz-800mhz 1mb Lc, etc, from microdirect. It is about £59.(updating on a budget). Just wondering if it is any good for the price and running AoC?

I guess your mobo can take the new chip? if your mobo can take quad core id say pay the extra and get that. You can get some really nice bundles, with processors, ram, mobos etc Smile

If your current CPU is a Core 2 Duo? then buying a dual core pentuim at 3.0Ghz is actually a downgrade!
Though Pentium is clocker higher it doesnt have as many CPU features/extensions as the Core 2 does- therefore making it a slower processor when coming to running games and applications.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DONT BUY THAT DUAL CORE PENTIUM!

Instead opped for either;
1) buying a descent aftermarket CPU Cooler and clocking the CPU higher.
OR
2) Buy a new CPU- the Intel Core 2 Duo E4700 (2.6Ghz) will be right down your street.
If you motherboard supports the new 45nm, 1600 FSB CPU's then an Intel Core 2 Duo E4700 (2.53Ghz) is what you'd be after.
