Thats a major drawback with running Vista and Gaming... you really do need 4gb of ram

had the same probs...
make sure your drivers are upto date.
make sure you are not running the driver vista downloads for your vid card.
it caused me nothing but probs.
and also, verify whether you are running DX10 or Dx9.
i had issues with 9...
goodluck
*also, 4 gigs in vista is necc, even though only 3.2or so will be used.
thanks Bill...you f+++ing rich slacker!
fix that shit1! |

dont even bother trying to run dx10. i have quad core cpu, 4 gig ram & 8800gt oc card, and cant run it properly in dx10. hardly any difference between the 2 settings anyway. |

With 2 gig of ram that will destroy your performance i would amagine since vista itself uses over 1 gig when your running no other programs. |

if you can get the very high settings then your running game in dx10 as the highest setting in dx9 is high. you'll need at least 1 8800gtx to run dx10 mate. switch to dx9 and set everything to high and you should be fine. there is a way of putting settings in dx9 to very high, it involves accessing the config files and making some changes.

your card should be better i think. i'm not up on the new 9000 cards. i know some are not as good as some of the 8000 cards but yours should be. prob your ram thats holding you back then. whats it play like in dx9? there's hardly any difference in the graphics. follow the tweakguide and you'll have extra high settings too. but if you can i'd stick another 2 gig of ram in. you can get good fast ddr2 ram now for cheap. i've got crucial ballistix pc8500,a 2 gig set is less than £50 now. i've got 4 gig. got it from |
