I wouldnt go by that M8 as far as i can work out its bullshit, most duels and quads are running at 80/100% flat out when playing this game but only 50/60% GFX , due to the nature of the port from the consol i5/i7 are having a much easyier time of it |

Just read that having steam running when you start BFBC2 can cause this, fix is to exit steam before executing the game |

Not yet M8, I have a support ticket in with steam but they don't exactly rush with their answers. The hard copy I ordered from Play is here and I will be installing later. This should clarify if it's steam or not!
***Ok, a quick edit here. I am now the proud owner of two copies of BFBC2 (total cost £61) and neither works. In fact I couldn't even uninstall the disk copy without it locking up my PC, and I had to do a system restore to get rid of it. Whatever EA have done it runs head on into something on my machine and it don't like it. Anyone want to buy an expensive doorstop? |

OK, figure this if you can. Neither disk or download version of the game will run on my new machine. Out of curiosity I rebuilt my old machine which was a 3.2Ghz Pentium 4 with 2gig of RAM and an old X1600 graphics card. Now it may not win any awards for quality, but the game runs and it's playable. I went on a server with a few players on and had a passable game experience. So when I've played around to squeeze a bit more from it I will finally get to join you ingame!
The downside is I will have to run two machines until (if ) I can get to the bottom of the new PC issue. |
