Hi all,
I used to play BF2 and 2142 in this clan a couple of years back. With the arrival of BC2, I'm considering returning (hurrah! ).
Anyone got experience of playing this with a E6300 dual core and 8800GT or similar? Even at low settings on a 1280x1024, aslong as it's playable im fine. |

hi nitro, there's a few of the old bf2 lads returning. not using those components myself, but i would say it'll run it on low smooth enough. i think omimace is using one of those cards in his kids pc so he'll know. the game seems to be very heavy on cpu's, quad cores are ideal, but should be ok. that cpu will overclock really well if need be , throttle it and spank it untill it plays |

Hello Nitrokid
Been a while, nice to hear from you
That card should run the game ok as we got a member who is running with a 8800GTS which is the card one down from yours.
As for the processor I am not sure hopefully someone here is running similler.
Cheers

The CPU may be a bit of a bottleneck. I'm sure it would be able to cope with low settings but I don't think it will stretch much beyond that. As said you may be able to squeeze it with a bit of an overclock. |

Cheers guys, may pick this up today or tomorrow.
So, I'd first be looking to up to quad first before upping my graphics? I dontm ind playing on low for a while anyway so no rush. Just wanted bare minimum playability |

Yes the kids are actually using a 9600GT and runs fine, this game definatly seesm to be CPU heavy rather than graphics. LOL there card still loads quicker than mine just being Nvidia and not ATI. |

I have noticed the first signs of the New Nvidia card releases as if you go to download the latest drivers for Nvidia cards they have added the 300 series drivers in the list
Cheers

Well, to update, got this running last night, all at stock clocks for CPU and Gfx. All settings were medium at 1280x1024 and Playclaw's fps meter was usually between 20-30. It was still playable funnily enough with no uberproblematic jitters |

I haven't messed around with the settings files yet, but I upped the E6300 to 2.1Ghz last night, GFX still at stock and managed to play with High settings (chosen at ingame options) at between 30-40FPS with minimal noticable jitter last night. Maybe I'm getting away with it due to the lower resolution than many of the benchmarks online are done in. |
