I really wana see this vid that peeps are talking about but i cant get it anywhere, that link that you put on java takes me to an error page, and i cant even find the link dockers put up. Am i just being stupid or has it been removed?

Call me old fashioned but Nothing can quite replace the sight of a Lightening beating up a runway and then sitting on its tail and going vertical. The hanger doors used to shake it was truly awsome.

Dockers... I suppose things have moved on an awful lot since my days in the mob. Whats the current hot thing to fly?

I can remember sitting on the beach at Weymouth on Carnival day, watching the Red Arrows mince around and then feeling my ears bleed as a Vulcan comes blasting in from behind us at about 500ft (well, bloody low) before fucking off across the bay.

Soul/Dockers,

In my youth I have the privilege to go up to RAF Leuchars where an old schoolfriend of mine was posted as an aircraft technician (or something like that).

In those days, Health & Safety was down to "Wear a Johnny lad and you'll be alright!" so I managed to get the OK from the Station Commander to go in the rear and up in a two-seater Lightning. Had a brief check over with the MO, a bit of a talk as to what to expect , and off we went to Norway and back.

Afterburner down the runway then, as you say, sit up and beg then whoosh into dark blue space. The most exhilerating 35 minutes of my life!

Everytime I go walking in the Dales, I drive past BAe at Preston where there's a Lightning on a stand - ah, memories. Crying or Very sad
