I love the game BF2 and even though EA have been a pain doing all these patches I`ll still buy it as its only £5.99. As for running them on the server well thats unlikely for the short term as we dont run the Euro maps because they tend to stop our server at the point they are in rotation I do and a fair few members in the clan do like the maps and we will definately give them another try when the server has recovered from the IP change and the new patch etc
Cheers

weapon unlocks
thats the key
if you offer the player something they can use in both the mod and vanilla bf2 then you'l get more people buying it. I mean I spent £20 odd on Special Forces and havn't looked back since it gave me the G36's. Eurofarce gave me the P90 and L96A1 which are now awesome with v1.2+ but I dont tend to use classes that use those weapons.
as far as I am aware if you've had a rank advance post-euroforce but have not actually bought it then you are still elligible to recieve the weapons associated with it.
Also there are quite a few weapons in euroforce that are not available in bf2, which I find surprising as some of the weapons are pretty cool |

if they want it to be popular they would give it out for free, thats what all the other companies do (I love valve).
It's important not to isolate people from your games, but by having 3 separate sub games that's exactly what they are doing; limiting the game to a select few. |

I will get it but if it is rubbish or no-one else is playing it then it will gather dust on a shelf.

I will be getting it... I mean even if we cant get the general public interested in Euro/Armoured on our server then we can always use the maps in intra-clan fun nights... Because lets face it the maps in euro force are pretty good |

I'm with you Ade - I like Euroforce and would like to see it re-introduced into the server.
As for Armoured Fist - yes I'll be buying it.
Just because game developers upgrade their games doesn't mean that they are ripping game players off! It shows that they are also listening to the consumer forces at large - people want better gaming and graphics and they respond. I bought, played and thoroughly enjoyed Quake 1, still bought Quake 2 (Voodoo cards, remember them?), and so on through Q3 and still enjoy Q4. No moans from me at having to pay for the better versions - it was my choice.
As for the 'cash-cow' remarks re EA they are pretty immature really. We, the consumers, contribute to companies profits by buying their programmes. No-one is forcing anyone else to spend their hard-earned cash - if you don't like the idea of patches, downloading add-ons, etc, (I still remember all the upgrades for UT we had to get for it to run well) - stick to board games. |

I am also a fan of the Euro Forces but unfortunately even before we upgraded to the 64 player server and before the new patch when a Euro Forces map was reached it killed the server when this happens its almost impossible to get enough members to start the server again and many get pissed off basically this is a fact
When we see bigger numbers on average most evenings we are going to trial run the EF maps again.
Cheers
