Wow i really stirred up the hornets nest here didnt I??
The view I take is obviously 1) you have to be special forces to enter a base. 2) you have to at least be attempting to blow up assets (I blew the UAV btw) 3) you should be allowed to defend yourselves by any means necessary - i agree the arty crossed the line, it was honestly a case of not thinking when being sniped at and forgetting i was in an enemy uncappable.
I also have to disagree with the comments on getting out of the base - you should not camp, but at the same time if you blow an assett up within a few seconds you see a crate dropping from the sky - if you are forced to leave the base you will end up having to come back again.
I quite enjoy the 'sneaking' factor! |

So what your saying would be spawn camping really as you would always stay there.
Cheers

if/when I see hostiles in/near a locked base they are very rarely Ops, and when they are you'l more than likely find their agenda doesn't involve the assets.
When I see people "using helicopter as escape" or "you were shooting me so I shot back so I could escape" or the infamous "your tank was just sitting there so i used it to escape" I tend to be quick on the finger for ClanForge. I feel its plainly not fair game to steal enemy vehicles of value (greater than the basic jeeps).
certainly using anything of higher class than a jeep automatically equips you with the firepower to basecamp the un-armed spawning troops in the area |

Obviously differing opinions in the clan - a number of us are of the opinion using ANY MEANS POSSIBLE to escape is vaild, whilst the other side of the community disagree.
Yes this is a game but it tries to add realism, so in real life would you not steal a fast jet to make good your escape?
So we have to make a clan decision and stick to the decision;
1. Spec Ops may steal any vehicle to escape (vote yes )
2. Spec Ops may only leave on foot or in a jeep (just wrong )
Let the voting begin and remember - "I tend to be quick on the finger for ClanForge" - is a power to be used wisely but is a power some of us also wield (beware ) |

No is the answer. If you want realism your in the wrong game. The idea of Spec Ops in real life is to get in, do your mission, get out (They have engineers in real life you know, they can fix things too). You would be part of a team, not a loner. You would have your escape route and means of escape planned and ready. If you were going to steal a vehicle you wouldn't steal anything that would not get you as far away as possible in the shortest time. You would not steal a fast jet 'cos you would not get it off the ground as you wouldnt know how to fly it. You may know how to pilot a helicopter but in real life they take a lot longer to power up, they are not left outside unguarded, and the sound of the engine alone would bring the world and his dog to find out about an unauthorised flight. Oh. And if you get shot you don't come back to life 15 seconds later. Realism?? In BF2?? Do me a favour |

I'm with chaos, all the way on this.
but bf2 is imo the closest we have to real-life simulation on a broad base multiplayer game.
other fps's' and mmorpg's' (to me) dont appear to have the same appeal as the raw energy bf2 gives when stomping arround karkand as medic with shock-paddles glowing white-hot
call it score-whoring or whatever, but it sure is a hell of alot of fun! |

DO YOU CONSIDER THIS BASERAPING? WHEN YOU GET A CREW OF AROUND 5 OTHER GUYS AND TAKE A BLACKHAWK TO A POINT AND LAY OUT EVERYONE IN ORDER TO GET THE POINT, AND THEN JUST MOVE TO THE NEXT POINT. YOU HAVE A GOAL, AND OBJECTIVE AND DON'T JUST DO MINDLESS KILLING JUST TO GET POINTS, BUT INSTEAD GET MOST OF YOUR POINTS BY CAPTURING THE FLAG. PLUS IT'S NOT LIKE THE ENEMIES DON'T HAVE ANTI-AIR DEFENSE, WHICH CAN TAKE YOU AND YOUR SQUAD IN THE HELICOPTER EASILY OUT. |

Hi All
I hope you dont mind me adding my two pennys worth.
I have to agree with MAVERICK on best part
"" Personally Im of the view that entering the base to blow commander assets is fine... if you are detected and attacked then you may defend yourself, you may NOT attack peeps who are not attacking you...
I dont think the stealing of vehicles is right, it denies an asset to the enemy and in my view that is not fair. ""
The ONLY members of each team allowed to enter locked base's should ONLY be >>
Special-Ops !!! NO Others permited !!
The only thing I would say with the vehicles if it was stolen from the base it is used ONLY to get away from the base, NOT to be used to kill members of the other side.
Peace
