umm another joystick problem thread

for some reason i cant get my joysticks to work
iv got two -logitech wingman attack 2
and a -logitech wingman extreme digital 3d

the second was jus givin to me so i thot id give it a go
so i installed it and went to options in bf2 and set my buttons with no problem
got in a plane and crashed Rolling Eyes

the stick and throttle dont work
so i tryed the profiler and it cant find the devic
went to windows games controllers went to the properties screen and it says the device is not responding it then refers me to the device manager
so basically iv done the whole update roll back and uninstall thing its just not working

any ideas pls pls pls

oh ye the attack joytsick is exactly the same but it used to work on this pc Shocked

probably completely unhelpful,but perhaps with the changing around the usb port got dust in or one of the pins on the gameport got bent/broke?does seem wierd you set it up ok in options then it failed when you started a game,hope you get it sorted.

thanks mate but im afraid the problems lies with my pc as both joysticks suffer the same problem

in game the buttons on both work it just the throttles and sticks that dont

im having problem with my joystick too, mine when i bind the stick movements it sets both movements at the same time

ie if i bind steer right, and pull the joystick to the right, the "steer left" automatically gets bound to the same movememnt and cannot change it. therefore when i hit the throttle to start flying the plane just either goes one side or to the back till the plane explodes.

btw i have logiteq freedom 2.4 and mine is wireless

so if anyone knows a solution pls do share ur knowledge

The reason when u push left it sets up right aswell is due to it being an Axis, even tho it has set up both make sure u go to right and push right aswell. same goes for forwards and backwards and ur throttle. Also make sure u go to windows control panel > Game Controllers to calibrate ur joystick.

Ade, ur problem is weird m8, i have a plain cheap usb joystick that i plug into my Z-board and its fine, i did calibrate it first by going to the game controllers in control panel but u can't even get ur pc to recognise the joysticks? how old are they? maybe a windows update made them uncompatible... i dunno lol

ye cyrus it is wierd
the error message is my gameport or gameport drivers are missing
get a feeling whatever controls game port has gone down as even my ps2 controller adapter dont work any more

would love to get em working as then at least i can dog fight properly
i can tell wen its mouse vs joystick as i always get shot down Razz

Hmm, have u tried doing a windows update and checking the so called "Unimportant" updates? sometimes they have a bunch of useful drivers that don't download unless u make them download. Def seems like a windows problem, even without drivers installed my pc picks up everything i plug in, you have XP right? Razz

if worse thing comes to worse u might need to do a fresh re-install of windows to get it working.

the thing is it does reconize the joysticks it just says they are not responding Confused

also the buttons work Confused

dunno baffled me iv tried everything

and i am thinkin of doing a fresh windows install and format hd
my pc is so full a junk no wonder it dont work properly Rolling Eyes
