Pistol & Knife .. Help is at hand!

Yo All

Just thought I'd post this, for those of you who are having trouble getting your basic Pistol and Knife Combat Badge's

There are currently several servers (Ranked) running Knife and Pistol only games.
Enter "Knife" in the Server Name box in Multiplayer and you'll see the servers
I would recommend the 16 player one as the others tend to have childeren who think its fun to use Arti/Tanks/Nades etc and they are not allowed.

Its just a nice way to get the two most ridiculous badges in the game. Personally I think they should substitute them for The "Harvest 5 Ganga bushes" Badge and The "I smoked a 4 inch Spliff and didn't fall over" Badge Shocked

As far as I know these type of server are against EA rules? and are exploiting the game Confused

Surely selling a game full of bugs and using millions of paying customers worldwide as unsuspecting beta testers is against the rules of fair trade and commerce?

I see where your coming from mrix and understand. However the game has generated (by its nature) a get the points at all costs sub culture (it thats the right work) within the BF2 communities, both open and clan based.

I've been trying for months for my support vet badge I've got to 15 kills, the games are just not lasting long enough. Same with the pistol and knife badges as ppl get more proficiant in playing at higher levels it becomes harder for us middle to lower ranked player to advance... I played recently on a server where no round lasted more than fifteen minutes. How the hell are we supposed to advance if the games don't last long enough.
I can understand where EA are coming from! Of course its against thier rules they want to do nothing but make money from us for as long as possible. We're not all Super soldiers with high ranks who play most nights for hours at a time and they should have taken that into consideration when they designed the score/rank system in the game.

Yes its an addictive game and yes I like playing it but like everyone else I paid my £45 - £50 or so for BF2 SF and Euro. I dont agree with paddin or hacking or any Unscrupulous means to play.
From my point of view, its just a bit of fun ppl thinking of new ways to enjoy thier game and me improving my skills and in the process I get a minor badge. EA can take a running jump. The game exploits itself! .. With its bugs, lack of maps, noobtube'ers, ppl TK'ing for planes, choppers & armour. Muppets using arti to kill one guy etc etc etc.

Aye is a great game, but not that great!

I think Knife and Pistol servers would be fun!
its just when people deliberately make a squad and let 1 person on the other team knife or pistol them on purpose to get the badges, thats sad and i'm sorry if people can't play the game properly they shouldnt bother. Same goes for wallhackers and Aimbotters, if ya need to use those then stick to Scrabble and Connect 4 Razz

The knife and pistol badges are extremely hard to get, but that makes them the most fun.
So yeah anyways Pistol and Knife server is cool but people laying there screaming "Knife me as much as you want to get ur badges" is not cool Razz

if you need to cheat* in order to attain an award then the award you recieve is worthless
All of my awards I have recieved fairly without needing help from anyone** or any server setting/rules

*cheat being using the game in a fashion other than what you would do normally/majority of the time playing the game
**anyone excluding pilots, co-pilots, drivers and gunners

I recieved my last veteran badge a good few weeks before recieveing my Marksman Infantry Medal.. it takes patience

I know i did cause it took me so long.

I agree too that these Knife/pistol only servers are fun I have played on a few (after i got the badges I must add) it was a nice change from sneaking up to the enemy only to get shot in the face...lol. I think they should be allowed but as unranked servers.

I still cant get the transport badge Sad

yet i travel in one for long enough

transport requires you to be transporting other players in your vehicle for a total of 10minutes in a round

right pia to get, the most awkward one to get if you ask me

, but I'm one of the few who dont piss off in an empty transport jeez does that not just piss ya off, there's 10 of ya waiting and one buggers of leaving the rest of ya standing there Evil or Very Mad

10 mins in a round using transport. ye right.

If you happen to be commander and you sit i a vehicle that wont be missed inc boats i believe (wake island,usa sit near and protect arty) it will still count as your 10 mins in a vehicle i think.

As for the knife and pistol servers, would be fun i think but maybe should be unranked.

TBH guys getting the pistol and knife badges was hard enough on an Knife & Pistol only server .. The buggers dont stand still and they shoot and stab back !

I got so p*ssed of with trying to get them. IMHO I erned them and had fun doing it. The only difference was that I was'nt being sniped, PKM'ed or generally blow to bits before I got a fighting chance.

Only commander ones now and i find being commander a bit boring Sad

or your enemy keep blowing yer stuff up, u repair it then its blown up again mean-while some scroat it shouting that ur a sh*t commander cause he cant get supplies then start's a vote.

He didnt last as long as me when I resigned and told him to do it was voted off after one round....lol (nope i didnt vote for him nor start it Twisted Evil
