Having said that, Ive read a little about those conroes yesterday (never heard of them before) and they do actually look quite promising. Well, the top of the range $1000 one does...
I wont be rushing to buy one just yet (lol), as the first generation will probably overheat like crazy and require a 1000W power supply.... But at least Intel's back in the fight. Competition is good!! A faster chip, albeit at Intel "dadadda daaaa" prices and with crazy power consumption will force AMD to release something to pwn their asses again
You know, the only reason why Intel has 64bit chips and dual cores is because they reverse engineered AMD's? Illegal of course, but they had to resort to dirty tactics just to stay afloat.
Mind you, if I was gonna buy a PC right now, Id go for AMD XP4400, some kick ass DDR500 and overclock it to 3GHz. Oh yes, that would own. AMDs memory controllers and hence mem bandwidth (essential for games) is still far ahead of Intel's aging FSB technology and will be for some time...
