Anyways, basicly it doens't realy matter alot what kinda joystick you have for BF2 - if it has a kinda throttle function on it and a twist then it do just fine.. 2 main function it should have i'm using the Saitek X52 atm wich is 1 godly joystick...

PS. And never ever slow down for anything not for bomb not for shooting a chopper down keep that baby full trottle

i would have to disagree there if your coming in on a patch of land which you know from the radar is crawling with enemy i slow down and open up with my machine gun as i find you get more kills doing this than doing bombing runs, its also good to do a few terms as a commander as this gives you an overview of where the friggers might normally hide, also its good to slow on chopper if you come in with your machine gun blazing as soon as you see the small explosion on the chopper motors let the heat seeker fly and the will always home in on the flames even if the flares have been shot by the chopper, another trick is joy2key a program which allows you to look out and around the sides of your cockpit so you can have a larger view, also configered on my joystick i have the map and the rear camera view so if you just done a bombing raid and you didnt get the kill switch to the camera rear view to see where the feckers are running and return with your machine guns on full pelt, the reason for the map is you can click up the map at anytime and i dosent effect you control of the aircraft at all and you can see where all the action is or if a flag is being turned

woot, I cant shoot anything down with the jet ( even tho I have a joystick). I can fly great! Yeahh!! around and around the bloody map... its just too damn fast for me. When I see a chopper, I get lockon, it fires flares, by the time I even get a lock, ive passed it. ffs :@

So, I try using cannon... I do the snappiestsix trick of switching to bomb mode, creep up on them, shoot with cannon. Oh s***! I managed to get off 1 shot before I passed it... ffs...

Ok, so I slow down, yeah, now Im being sneaky, slow and with bomb mode. WTF? ive been locked on, ive only got 1 flare per 10 minutes ARGGGGhHH... now Im dead...

So, that my friends, is why I play chopper. More manouevarable (yeah my spelling rocks), more tactical, more firepower.. Very Happy

When ya shooting down choppers always go into bomb mode Smile

Els you got the chopper panicking and it pull his stick left and right... by the time the chopper is getting hit and pulling out it will be damaged for around 60% then try and follow his movements and finish him or make a second run....

And with the Bomb mode you got a better firing solution to work with Smile

any plane slowing down can be shot down so easily with guns or when using missles keep the aim above the plane not on the the plane, just above so when he drops flares it won't lock onto the flares (Flares are useless)

if this is the case why is it that i slow down and have a kill to death ratio of 10 and you dont slow down and you have a kill to death ratio of 7 Rolling Eyes

?? by slowing down i mean normal speed and saver your boosters for when you really need them if your flying around a top speed all of the time you are missing targets left right and center, frig how many passes would it take to shoot an apc with your machine gun if you are going at full pelt, telling you give it a try, less is more lol

In that case i would advise him to go and invest in a logitec extreme 3d pro as this baby flies itself giving you that added time to roll it like it and stick it..... Sorted

I use my standard Xbox controller with a adapter for a USB port. It works ok good i guess, my only problem is when a jet banks and i try to follow them i lose sight of them.
Has anyone else every flown a Microsoft Flight simulator 2004, it has a virtual cockpit view that lets pan the camera while you control everything much like what you do in BF2 while holding the CTRL key down and using the mouse, but this presents the problem of losing control of the aircraft temporarly. Flight simulator uses a POV terminal (such as the directional pad on a xbox controler) to pan the camera in different directions. I need somthing that would allow me to do that without interupting my controls like it does when you hold the CTRL key down.
Anyone ever hear of a program that does that or similar? post a link if you have please!

only person to beat me in a J-10 against a USMC jet is RedAim, others either bail or die
as USMC you have little chance except against MEC in the air I feel which is only in Oman and Kubra iirc

in USCM jet i can still kill China plane's just gun them and think of how you are gonna fly don't follow every move they make cause they will out turn you... and get behind you pretty easy (or you gotta be flying agianst a good pilot and die hehe like me uscm jet, snapiestsix china jet then i am pretty much a dead man lol)

And when you said slowing down basic logic means not appyling throttle, just keep pushing the throttle without boosters i just call that normal speed :S

And yeh i can kill an apc with guns in 1 run flying normal without boosters but i am pretty sure you can to

if you read the post before mine you would see that woop called you a stoner and i was only joking about getting my joystick as it would allow you time to skin up, hence roll it, lick it, and stick it

joy2key allows you to have 1 of your buttons on your joystick as a control button so that you can look out the side fo your cockpit so instead of just having the front view you can look from side to side to see if any targets are flying near. The way it works is that you press the button on your joystick and until you press the button again you jet will fly straight, instead the joystick act as your head movement looking from left to right, its pretty handdy and not that hard to install
