Problem

Having a problem connecting to a game within BF2. I'm patched to 1.41, and have SF, AF and EF installed.

When trying to connect to a server, any server, the music fades away in the usual manner, but then nothing happens. I don't get onto the loading screen, and I cannot seem to ALT+TAB, or any other button comination to get out of BF2. The computer itself has not frozen as I can hear Teamspeak in the background. In the end, I have to restart my computer

I recall having this problem a long time ago, but honestly cannot remember how I fixed it

anyone got suggestions?

tried re-installing, patching then joining a 'vanilla' bf2 server?

I would try.

OPen My documents, cut the bf2 folder (right click), paste this to desktop, run bf2 (you need to know your login details), see if that solves your problem.

You lose all your fav servers and have to re set any key mods you had, but if all else fails its worth a shot.

It could be a firewall problem i sometimes get this with bf2142. Zonealarm updates itself or there's a new 2142 patch and zonealarm doesn't like the game anymore so it gives a little allow/deny box which doen't show above the game this freezes everything but the computer is till flashing away like its active, so i press 'A' (which in zonealarm is the same as clicking allow) and the game loads.

So I would suggest disabling you firewall and trying the game again if it works then you will have to change the permissions within your firewall.
