Vista Pista me offa

I got the Vista 64 Home premium and now my Sound Blaster Live card wont work as there are no new drivers. Have no sound til I shell out for a x-fi Gamer which pretty much seems to be one of the only cards supprted... Sad

Yes the soundblaster card does have an issue.. I got around that for the time being by pluging in my USB headset Wink

Creative Sound Blaster Live! Series

This applies to all Live! products, including OEM Dell, Gateway, HP, etc. editions, 24-bit, 5.1, and the rest. Vista 5308 may or may not find drivers on Windows Update, but even if it does, they will not support Digital Audio.

1. Check Windows Update. Recently, correct drivers have popped up on there that support all Sound Blaster cards with digital audio too! If you don’t find anything:
2. Grab the ngoHQ modded drivers here.
3. Run the installer in Windows XP Compatibility Mode.
4. Restart your computer.
5. In the audio properties in the Control Panel, enable digital audio by going to the tab called “Other,” and checking digital output box.
6. Play with the “Format” tab to get the audio quality to your liking.
7. You may need to restart to ensure that digital audio works after changing that option.

Thanks for looking that up mate. I gave it go, but I think my old sound card is just too old. I am going to treat my self to a Creative X-Fi Music, as this seems to be a really good card. I have heard it is 15% faster than standard onboard audio, and I will get hassle at a later date no doubt.

Does anyone know whether or not I would be able to connect my Creative Live Drive front end to the X-Fi Music as it would be cool if I could still use my remote????
