Do we play enough Matches!!!

Hello Guys

I have been contemplating over the last few weeks, the competative edge that our clan has.

I was wondering if the general opinion now that BF2 is gradually loosing its appeal and what the thoughts were in trying to boost interests on the game again.

I appriciate that new games are comin out and thoughts go elsewhere, and that some people have achieved all they can in the game but im trying to ignite a new found enthusiasm in the game, and I believe that this could be done by introducing more matches.

I realise that it is a difficult thing to get games organised, getting people available and finding the teams that are not gona be an absolute walk over and vise versa.

Even if we introduced a nite where interclan could be played.

I know that we have always been a relaxed clan but I think maybe we should try and have a competative edge to our cv.

We have had several matches in the past where we have shown that we can not only b competative, but also fill out big numbers. I recall that we had our biggest ever match a few months back with a 20vs 20 battle.

I wonder weather it would be worth considering a position within the clan, to appoint a role of just organising matches.
I realise that this is a heavy job and takes a lot of time but some people have more then others.

Wouldnt u like to have a regular match evening or a regular interclan session. the other thing is it may encourage more members.

Lets me know ur thoughts guy, I would be very interested. We are a strong clan now with some fantastic gamers.

I would be up for some matches only porblem i have is i have a very very busy personnal life so i never know when i gonna be available, however with enough notice i sure i could sort something out.

Id love to fight in a Battle for Res. It was one of the reasons I joined, not the main reason, but a reason. You had one which Geordie organised (I think) around the time I joined. I wouldnt know where to start in regards to speaking to other clans to arrange fixtures so sorry I cant help there. I feel sorry for the person who has to try and get guys to committ to a certain time so that we are all able to make it as thats hard enough in RL.

I like the idea of an Interclan night as Hefty mentioned last night. Will it be like a training/practice/tactics session? I think its a good idea now but if we become involved in fights it will turn into a brilliant idea.

I'd love one night a week set aside for either Battles vs other clans or our own training etc.

Perhaps we start with a clan vote to see which night would be most popular? Set aside members to teach others, for eg, So n so is good in a tank so he can do some tank training with such n such? Set aside a TS Channel of its own for that. If we were to train like that and learn off the others in Res when battles did crop up we should do ok as we seem to play well already without training/tactics etc. And I guess we have already been teaching bits we do know to other members without really knowing so as we all play regulary together most nights. We may need to play on all of the maps though for eg, Fushee, Daquin, Kubra, Zatar etc

I'm now counting myself out of chopper training or jet flying as I was born with my "Air" skills and you just can't teach that kinda stuff, nor will you find it in a book Very Happy

I think clan matches are awesome, if anyone needs any help with it let me know and i will try give my experience where needed. I should be around a lot more soon! Yey! My PC desk is built and the room is painted!! Hurray!

Its a shame to see BF2 slowly going out the back door so to speak as I believe its been one of the best multi player games out there. I just hope EA bring out a new and improved version in the future.

The 20v20 match we had was great one of the best i`ve played in and its great to see all members working together. I must say though we need tougher opponents as we seem to win easy Laughing

Anything with team play in - I`m there.

I played in the first matches Res ever arranged and it was great, but as we are an adult clan work commitments made it hard to get teams together on a regular basis and eventually it petered out. It then had a second 'Resurrection' and we joined the ladders and leagues but, again, difficulty in getting a team together made it fail.
I have 'come back' to BF2 in the last couple of months and would love to get into playing matches again so if you can arrange some I'll try my best to be there Very Happy

I would be up for a fight but as everyone say its is hard to arrange a time where everyone involved is happy with, but if i can make it I'm defo up for a match whether clan or interclan

I think we should get some match experience for our guys in the form of intraclans first for the next few weeks - are the thursdays still good for most people??

I did try and start the thread up in the intraclan forum but got no response.....

We all good for thurs??? and also do we have a second server to use or do we take the main one offline for a bit??

After that lets kick some butts against other clans.

Any intrAclan matches can be held on the main server.

Sundays used to be intra clan nights didnt they?

Thats easiest for me, but again with work commitments its ill play when i can, but i cant really guarentee what time i'll get home after work so couldnt say untill literally right before in most cases.

But having a regular day and time for an intra clan then if people are available, and want to they'll show up?

Set one up for this Sunday, theres bound to be enough people, if not then no harm done really is there.

all this sounds great. was gonna post a similar thread myself,as i remember you having a match a week or 2 b4 i joined. matches against other clans or some interclan matches,both would be good. could set up 2 teams on 2 ts channels, would be great to get some competition. if we got 2 evenly matched teams,could try and stick to them and get some banter going!! sometimes go to pub thursdays though.
