When I log into my account and choose my soldier, it'll say Connecting to Master Server but crash - The game freezes, and I can't shut it down unless I hard restart. I've had this before with previous installs. I know it has crashed because in some areas of the screen, the mouse cursor turns to the normal Windows cursor and I could wait for a week and it wouldn't have logged in. I doubt a reinstallation will work, as it has had the same problems on other computers. |

Hi,
What you are describing with your mouse pointer sounds like there may be an explorer window opening up behind the game screen!
If this is the case then it is most likely your firewall..
When it happens try pressing ''Ctrl-Esc'' to get back to your desktop and see if there is a window open that needs ok'ing, Alternativly you could try allowing the BF.. exe access through your firewall , in the firewall settings then try logging in to game again!
Hope this helps ,
Thanx Gaz! |

Zone-Alarm I'm using. I've got BF2142 on Allow for everything though! Also I'm using XP. |

Zone-Alarm is a pain in the arse, you have to pretty much disable it to get games running ok with it, or sit there for ages configuring every little thing on it. |

I use ZoneAlarm and never had any trouble with it myself, alwaysfound it pretty simple (just like me) to use.
It does sound very much like what ScunnyUK says. If ther game is asking permission to access the net, for ZOPnealarm, just gop into program control and OK it to access. |

I use ZA on XP never had any problem with it.
I find if its zone alarm stopping anything just a simple press of the "A" button (allow) sorts it out. |
