1000 of Europe’s top gamers fight for Call of Duty 4 spoils of war

The search is on to find Europe’s COD4 supremo!

The cream of Europe’s gaming community is being invited to battle it out to be Europe’s top Call of Duty 4 (COD4) player. In what is being billed as the largest battle of its kind. 1000 players are being given the opportunity to be crowned Europe’s #1 in a one-on-one ‘search and destroy’ tournament, organised by the UK’s top professional outfit, Team Dignitas, and networking hardware manufacturer, ZyXEL.

The one-on-one ‘search and destroy’ format means players will take turns in planting or defusing a bomb, the winner will then progress to the next round. The qualifying rounds start on May 4th, followed by a second knockout round on May 11th with the grand final taking place on May 25th. Fredrik Reinius Team Manager at Team Dignitas explains, “The format and size of the tournament is the first of its kind. It’s never been attempted before; a one-on-one ‘search and destroy’ single elimination bracket, with only ONE map! Players will battle it out on MP_Crash, with seven rounds per side and the victory will be decided on round score.”

The prize for the winner is the ZyXEL end-to-end digital home networking kit, consisting of a HomePlug AV/ Wireless Super G+ hybrid router, 2 Terrabyte Network Attached Storage Server, a High Definition Multimedia Player and a HomePlug AV Adapter.
