Registry cleaner?

Anyone reccomend a free one that a dummy can use?

Have tried many and all have created problems for me... I have never touched them again.

CCLEANER is very good - ive used it a few time with no probs but you have to run it a few times

I second mrix on this one ive never know the registry to cause any slowdown and when i have tried cleaners in the past its caused isues id recommend a reinstall if things get that bad but if you are getting probs its unlikely to be registry .

CCleaner is good, you don't really need to use it much, but sometimes a good registry clean will help alot, all depends if you are constantly installing programs.

It's more that I just deleted around 75GB of junk from my hard drive and not all of it had a proper uninstall feature, that on top of 3+ years of abbuse and the fact the whole system has been creaking a bit means I want to have a clean up. Appreciate the warning but I'm going to chance it and give CCleaner a whirl and then do the normal maintenance stuff.

I regularly use Ccleaner and RegSeeker without any mahor mishaps so far. Set Ccleaner to Secure file deletion and 3 passes and save what you delete from the registry prior to fixing. Same thing for RegSeeker select to backup before deletion (tick box in bottom right corner). Set to delete everything except "invalid services". Set passes to 3, select active x, slect all, and put a tick in the remaining boxes.

I dont have any explorer problems only that I couldnt view the web site for a little while yesterday but all other sites were fine.
