Hey guys,
Sry I have searched all over for this, but I cannot get my joystick to work in BF2. It works without any hassles for JO. It's a Saitek X-45 and for some reason I cannot get the game to recognize it. any suggestiosn would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rev |

i dont tend to use joysticks myself, but i would reccomned just reinstallijng the whole thing again then go to the joystick configaration program (if there's one) if there is a configuration menu 'for game' (select the game from poss. dropdown list) configue it from there.
Hope this helps |

I've herd of this problem before and I dont think there is a solution, well not that I've found. The X45 is an analogue stick and throttle which is where the problem lies I think. The new X52 is digital and thats a pain at times too. Not sure if you'll find a result on this but good luck. |

i have an older saitek cyborg 3D digital, it works great and its the old game port type.
try the game controller config;
start>control panel>(switch to classic view)>game controllers> if your joystick is there click properties, if not click add |

I also have the 45. I can get it to work in the game and even assign the proper buttons. However, my problem lies in the roll (Aircraft). I only intend to use it with the jets, I can fly the choppers fine without it but the planes i simply crash and burn.
Anyway like i was saying, it will lift off, and the rudder works too, but the ROLL is backwards. Turn the stick right, plane goes left, Turn stick left, plane goes right.
If anyone knows how to fix this it would be helpful. |

i have tried that, it doesnt work. The game automaticly assigns both left and right movements at the same time when you move the stick. It assigns them as an axis. I am hoping to find a solution because i havent been able to fly an aircraft since 1942. Inboth Vietnam and BF2 the jets are just too fast to control with the mouse. I am pretty good with the chopper. You can check out my stats if you like (bigalk) theyre not bad. Sorry to anyone that I may have killed, no offense... |

Maybe your joystick sensitivity is set too high when assigning movements? Only a thought. |

It will always come up as axis, mine does... have u tried reinstalling ur joystick drivers or try pressing the opposite way when u input the controls on the bf2 controls screen. |

I use a Saitek USB Gold and I also have a Saitek X52.
I checked the Saitek web site and their advice is to keep trying. I was having the same problem. Some of the controls where revursed and they advise you keep trying and yup it worked after two attempts.. I had done it many times before. Although that was for the USB Gold JS you may find that its just a case of hanging on in there and trying again and again. |

if you haven't flown since 1942 and assuming you have to be 17 to fly, that makes you 80 years old - RESPECT |
