Electronic Arts has confirmed that the new Battlefield, as we expected based on images that leaked out earlier today, is a World War I-themed shooter called Battlefield 1.

Like its predecessors, Battlefield 1 will be a multiplayer-focused game, with 64-player battles that will take place in different locales around the world. But there will be a campaign as well, which will unfold from the perspectives of multiple characters.

I have been waiting for something like this to come along, all the jumping around mayhem craziness is not for me, WW1/2 games have always been my favorites.

WOW guys been a while.

I jumped ship some time ago as was focusing hugely on my MMO's and was looking for a community with a large MMO base. Literally after two years only just stopped playing Archeage. As I spent so much time there I have grown roots and become an officer but as soon as I saw the BF1 Trailer I though shit best log back in here and see whats happening

Be nice to hear some of you guys again as I reckon its been a very long time, and glad to see someones already posted and there is a general interest here

This the game that may bring me back to some FPS shenanigans and be good to kill a few of you for old times sake.

Will try and keep in touch and see what you guys are doing as this game gets closer.......

This game finally really does look like something worthy of coming back to FPS!
