As most of us are at the moment (if able) I was working from home as per usual today when a friend messaged me about a racing game which is available on Steam. Having not used Steam properly in years (nor do I have a gaming Desktop thesedays like the blingy custom one with surround sound I had in the past), I started reminiscing about my late teens and what games I used to play. Long story short, I remembered I joined |2es when it first started back in 2005 (thereabouts) as a17 year old, completely new to online gaming. I can't remember how I originally came across the clan but I had been nuts about Battlefield 2 and mrix welcomed me into the group after I sent him a "May I join?" email. He, I, Cyrus, Grim, Crewey and others would tear up Gulf of Oman, Strike at Karkland (always a tricky one) and Dalian Plant, working together as a team via TeamSpeak. @Grim, I believe I taught you how to fly under the aircraft carrier in a Heli at one point - we had such a laugh! I loved those times and I just want to say, I had a difficult time at school, with minimal friends at college and it was nice to be playing with some like-minded individuals who were kind to me and actually allowed me to be part of a CLAN! (Even if I was awful!!!). I'm 32 now!
Needless to say, I did some Google searches (this page was hard to find by the way!) and realised 15 years later my profile is still set up! To access this account it required trying to get access to an email address which I hadn't used since to perform the password reset - absolute nightmare
Anyway, enough of my rambling...thought I'd say hi. How are you keeping and how has the clan developed since?
I hope you are all keeping safe and well. Happy New Ye...Lockdown!
Best wishes,
David
