If he needs monitor, keyboard and mouse then we'll have to change the setup to stay within budget.
If he's coming from an Xbone, he'll be expecting it to look good. Being a kid you don't want him to be disappointed if the games don't look better.
To keep the cost down I'm starting to think the AMD route may be the better option. Need to compare them like for like. Not a lot in it though I think.
